Fishkeeping for Children

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, my family and those whom God loves:

Using the hobby of fishkeeping is a great way to communicate God’s Word to our children. There are almost 70 fish-related references in the Bible, some of which are core to our understanding of the Christian faith (Matthew 4:19). As an example, in setting up an aquarium parents could invite their children to think of all the ways God has set up the world to look after our needs and the needs of creatures like fish. After setting up the aquarium offer a prayer of thanksgiving for God’s creation and His ongoing care.

COVID-19 and the Christian Faith

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, my family and those whom God loves:

How do we as Christians and as congregations respond to the COVID pandemic? I’m going to suggest we begin with what we confess as Christians. I appreciate what Pastor Bryan Wolfmueller has said in this video (audio back up):

Baptism, Immersion and the Bigger Issues

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, my family and those whom God loves:

I’m a subscriber to Pr. Bryan Wolfmueller on YouTube. He offers great down-to-earth insights into lots of biblical and theological issues. One of these I listened to recently had to do with the question: “I wasn’t immersed, does my baptism count?” His response was a classic because it not only addressed the question, but many larger issues like:

† Why do we have to argue over issues like baptism that divide Christians?
† Are the Scriptures clear enough to know the truth about issues like baptism?
† Is the mode of baptism important or not?

Watch this great video below or if unavailable, I’ve saved as an audio file.

Grace be with you,
TBG †
