Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, my family and those whom God loves:

The label for this section and its contents is Bible. I belong to a church that confesses the Bible to be God’s Word. We do not believe that it merely “contains” God’s words or that just some of the words belong to God, but that in the 66 books of the Bible, we have God’s inspired (2 Timothy 3:16), accusing and saving/justifying (Law and Gospel), authoritative, infallible, united and Christ-centered Word.

The technical label for this section is exegetical theology. Exegetical Theology is concerned with the principles and practice of biblical interpretation (hermeneutics) and the study of the text of the Scriptures in the original languages (Hebrew and Greek).

Although occasionally there will be reference made to the text of the original languages, this section will focus primarily on the meaning of the text for the original hearers and for us today and only draw attention to the most important elements of the original language when necessary.

See the drop down menu under this heading for a list of posts.

Grace be with you,
